From the quiet village of Branston, we will walk through farmland with big skys along the Jubilee Way until it merges with the Cross Britain Way which we follow until we get to the grounds of Belvoir Castle. This will take us along a ridge in Barkestone Wood where the trees to the left drop steeply away to give extensive views to the north west. We then circle back past Knipton Reservoir to Branston.
If you would like to join this walk please contact the Leader using the email link
The walk is mostly along well-made paths with some road walking along quiet country lanes. The 600 feet of elevation is mostly in a gradual climb at the beginning with another quite steep climb at the end. The walk along the ridge through the woods is level. There are no stiles.
