A Chatsworth walk starting in Rowsley. The first 2 miles of the route takes us up hill through woodland into Chatsworth Park. The terrain is good but occasionally steep in places. We’ll skirt Bakewell as we head for Edensor where ice cream can be purchased from the cafe and cake from a road-side cart. The route will then pass Calton Lees where there are toilets. The return, following the River Derwent back to Rowsley is pleasant and scenic. Lots of views throughout the walk.
If you would like to join this walk please contact the Leader using the email link.
Woodland, field paths, tracks and a little bit of road walking. As it’s a Bank Holiday weekend parts of Chatsworth will be very busy, particularly the B6017 which passes through the park. Sheep and their lambs will be grazing in the fields. 4 stiles some with gates. It could be muddy but hopefully the ground has dried up by May 🤞
Please bring a packed lunch.
