We are the West London Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We will pass through Ashtead Common to the nature reserve of Princes Covert, part of the Crown Estate. We will then walk past the Chessington World of Adventure before crossing Ashtead Common on a different path. There will be a brief snack stop about half way. Expect some mud, uneven surfaces and overgrown paths. You should get rewarded by seeing some deer out that time of day.
For those interested, The Woodman pub (www.emberinns.co.uk) is 5 minutes walk away from Ashtead station. Please let me know if you would like to have a meal so I can let the pub know. It will have to be outside seating though, as they have a quiz night on Wednesdays.
Recommended train 16:33 from Clapham Junction will arrive 17:02 at Ashtead station. Freedom Pass holders will require an Evening out return ticket from Ewell West to Ashtead. There is one toilet at the station. Meet in the carpark outside the station.
