We commence our walk from the start point along a quiet lane.
At the lane junction we start to rise gently along a track to reach the Wansdyke . Tracking east we should be afforded marvellous views across the countryside both to the north and south .
We will then descend south past and beyond Harepath farm. On reaching the road we continue for a small section before joining the Kennet and Avon towpath. From the swing bridge we head back through the village passing the church.
You can either return directly to your start point at this point or track across the field towards the Piggery at West End farm.
Here we can enjoy a warm beverage and light snack ( you can purchase products from the farm) before a short walk along the lane to the car park.
Poles may/will be useful as the tracks can be slippery when wet.
Look out for rabbit holes along the Wansdyke.
There will be one refreshment stop.
Stout walking wear and appropriate clothing as there is little shelter whilst on the Wansdyke in particular.
