The walk starts in the suburbs of London. After a short stretch in Carshalton the route climbs the North Downs. There will be a brief stop at Oak Park, where toilets are available, before we enter the lavender fields (unfortunately not in season). The lunch stop is at Woodmansterne. A pub is available, but it is not clear how welcome are walkers. Picnic lunch is preferable. The walk then will continue through fields until Banstead Woods. The Lion will welcome us at the entrance and direct walkers to the Wardrobe. Witches appear to be scared. Just before entering Kingswood there is the ex HQ of Legal and General.
Train: London Bridge 10.25, arrives Carshalton Beeches 10.54. There are also trains from Victoria. Return is from Kingswood station. Oyster Card and Freedom passes are valid from both stations.
Toilet at Carshalton Beeches station and at Oak Park visitor centre.
There are 2 stiles.
