Overview

A brisk walk through an area of lowland heath and a key habitat for rare heathland species, initally along the Shipwrights Way, to Weavers Down (155 metres/512 feet), continuing past Folly Pond and returning to Liphook along the Serpent Trail.  There are several undulations and one steep hill.

Train:  London Waterloo 08:45, Clapham Junction 08:52, Woking 09:13, arrives Liphook 10:02 (Portsmouth and Southsea train).  Buy return to Liphook.  Freedom Pass holders buy from Surbiton.

Lunch: snack break at Weavers Down and picnic on grass near Folly Pond.  Sorry, no facilities.

Toilets: there are limited toilet facilities at Liphook station but they not always open. Please use toilets on the train. Comfort stops on the walk will be al fresco.
