We follow the path of the now culverted river Tyburn, one of London’s ‘hidden’ rivers starting at its source in Hampstead and finishing at its outlet into the Thames near Vauxhall Bridge. Our route takes us via Regent’s Park, Marylebone Lane, Green Park, Victoria and Pimlico.
Easy terrain but at a moderate pace. No facilities at stations; public toilets in Regent’s Park, Green Park, Cardinal Place Shopping Centre in Victoria (coins needed). Several drop out points.
Lunch: picnic or cafe at Green Park or Victoria; picnic advised as cafes likely to be busy.
Train: Hampstead Underground station (Zone 2/3) is served by the Northern line - Edgware Road branch. Return from Vauxhall station (Zone 1/2; Victoria line and Nat Rail).
Please note: many factors can affect how long a walk takes and the finish time given is an estimate only.
