This is a country walk along the Jubilee River, which was built to prevent flooding in Maidenhead. In a very short time, we leave urban Slough to join the river, which we follow for over 4 miles. Lunch is at Crocus at Dorney Court (very nice cafe available for food and drinks). Unfortunately due to construction work, there are no benches for those who want a picnic lunch - please bring a mat to sit in the fields if you prefer to bring lunch. In the afternoon we return to the Jubilee to make our way to Taplow, with a stop for a drink at a very nice restaurant before completing the final section back to Taplow station.
Toilets at Slough station, lunch stop and in Taplow only.
There is a good track alongside the Jubilee River with very little mud but given the rain, we anticipate puddles and some mud - boots recommended. Due to the mud, we are not going to join the Thames path at any stage of this walk.
