This walk approaches the familiar walking territory around Shoreham and Otford in Kent from an unfamiliar angle, passing at first over wooded hills, then climbing up and over a steep ridge to get down to Shoreham for a picnic lunch and possible drink stop. In the afternoon the route goes into a lovely hilly area of woodland and fields, passing through the lovely hidden valley of Magpie Bottom, a nature reserve. It is possible to leave the walk at Shoreham Station
This walk has three steep climbs and descents, and will have a brisk pace.
Catch the 1001 Sevenoaks train from Charing Cross, arriving Knockolt at 1050. Knockolt is within Zone 6. Buy a return to Sevenoaks or single from Otford to Zone 6.
Return trains to Victoria, Blackfriars or London Bridge
