From Tring Station we soon ascend the wooded scarp into the Ashridge Beechwoods and walk through Copse Wood to the visitor centre for a short stop (toilets). Then we loop round part of the Ashridge estate, crossing the golfcourse towards Little Gaddesden for a picnic lunch (probably on edge of golfcourse) - best to bring a mat to sit on as seating is very limited. We hope to visit 'The Bridgewater Arms' pub nearby for drinks and toilets, although likely to be very busy as it is a bank holiday. Walk continues via Ringshall, to explore Crawley Wood and Dockey Wood, well known for their fantastic array of bluebells. As it is a bank holiday, a small entrance fee of approx. £3.50 (preferably cash), or using your National Trust Membership Card (free entry) will be required to gain entry to Dockey Woods. After visiting Dockey wood we shall trek southwards through the forest, hopefully seeing more bluebells on our way back to the Visitor Centre for a tea/toilet stop. Lastly, our descent takes us down through scenic Albury village, to soon finish at Tring Station.
A mostly gently undulating walk with one steep ascent soon after the start. Some woodland paths likely to be muddy after recent rain.
