Overview

The first and relatively gentle introduction to the NDW. We start in the ancient town of Farnham, join the River Wey and soon reach the North Downs Way seat, commissioned by the Countryside Agency to mark the start of the route. We pass through pleasant undulating countryside with several good viewpoints, where we'll have a picnic lunch and shortly after stop for drinks/loos at the Good Intent at Puttenham. The Pilgrim's Way meets the NDW here. We then pass the famous Watt's Gallery, and across rolling heathland and sandy soil.  We meet the River Wey again and walk north to Guildford Station.
