There are so many good walks in the Mole Valley area and this is no exception. We shall start from Leatherhead station and walk out of town to the east, following a green corridor for a while before making a turn to the south, eventually joining a deep holloway which is actually a Roman road called Stane Street. We will then cross Mickleham Down and climb Box Hill, where we will have lunch (café). Our return will be via the Stepping Stones (for the brave) or the nearby bridge, through Mickleham, an attractive village, and along the Mole Valley back into Leatherhead.
Please bring a packed lunch in case the café is busy. There are toilets at Leatherhead station and Box Hill.
This walk will be at a brisk pace. There are hills, some of them steep. Paths are mostly good but may be muddy in places.
