Overview

The second section of the Middlesex Greenway which is a surprisingly blue and green route. In the morning we proceed northwards along the Colne Valley passing Little Britain Lake and following various waterways such as the River Colne, the Grand Union Canal and Frays River to a lunch stop in Fassnidge Park in Uxbridge. A packed lunch is recommended but the Rusty Bike Cafe is available for drinks and WC, We continue to follow the Frays River after lunch and then cross Uxbridge Common and other green spaces to reach the river Pinn at Swakeleys. This is followed for a little while until  we divert through the centre of Ickenham Village to reach Ickenham Station. The walk could be muddy in places.
