JOINING INSTRUCTIONS: PUBLIC TRANSPORT - Meet at 10.15 am at bus stop PQ8, Priory Queensway nr. Old Square (adjacent to Hobgoblins Music Shop, B4 7LA), and take the 10.25 am bus no. 936. (The walk leader will join you at Kingstanding Circle on route). Alight at Beacon Crossroads (nearest postcode B43 7UG) approx. 10.50 am. Return buses 33, 936 or 937. BY CAR (not recommended as this is a linear walk) - There are 2 car parks at Barr Beacon. Do NOT use the one on the junction of Beacon Road & Bridle Lane, but the one further along Beacon Road fairly close to 'Beacon Crossroads' (where we alight from the bus) the 936 should arrive there at app. 10.50 am. The Leader will meet drivers at the car park at about 11.00 am. The linear walk ends at the leader’s house in Esher Road, where we can all have our picnics. Afterwards l will walk with the group around the corner for all to get a 33 bus back, if we have just missed one we can walk to 'The Circle' where folks have the choice of 2 fast buses to the City Centre 936 & 937. However, l will direct car drivers to the other side near the Kingstanding Library where they can catch a 936 (2 per hour) in the opposite direction back to the Beacon Crossroads to collect cars.
