Overview

Starting at 'Go Ape' in Temple Newsam, we walk down towards the M62 motorway and past Skelton Lake, then on to the River Aire and Calder Navigation towards Woodlesford.  Coming up for air we cross the busy A642 Wakefield Road with a further short walk on the canal.  We then turn up towards RSPB St Aidan's Nature Park.  We'll stop for lunch somewhere around this point, though may decide to stay on the river bank to partake of a riparian lunch!!  Hyacinth Bucket did this!  Once through St Aidan's we head back towards Temple Newsam again crossing the Wakefield Road, nearing the end of our walk with wonderful views of Temple Newsam House.
