Overview

A lovely downland walk with extensive views over the Pewsey Vale and sections along the Wansdyke.  We will also visit the fringes of the ancient Savernake Forest and Gopher Wood and see the earthworks of the medieval village of Shaw.   There are a couple of steepish hills and a few stiles.

There may be livestock enroute and sticks may be useful as it may be muddy.  Chalk, in particular, can be slippery when wet.  Bring refreshments for one stop.  We will be back for lunch

Meet at Knap Hill/Workway Drove car park. I would recommend arriving early as this can be a popular car park.
