A moderately pace undulating walk besides the river Wharfe and surrounding countryside. Dogs are welcome but there are many parts of the walk where they have to be on leads.
We cross the road and go down Scaur bank over the iron footbridge, with the river on our left now we walk through fields and woodland. Various wildlife has been spotted in this area, a barn owl , otters and herons.
There is a stile through the church. Down the old streets of Collingham over footbridge over a stream, we follow the river back to Linton bridge . Across the bridge we turn right , through a gate where eventually we join the road . Turn left pass the Windmill Pub to the bridge then turn right down Linton Common. After the houses end there is a steep path up to Trip lane - Where we cross onto undulating fields. Turning left towards the road and then right we follow the road back into Linton village. Turn left at the well, up the grassy bank and left at the road until we see the sign posts for the golf course path . and back towards Scaur bank.
It is a pretty walk through gently undulating countryside, primarily on well defined paths , although in winter it can be very slippery and muddy.
We tend to walk at a moderate pace.
