From the bridge we make our way along the Dales Way footpath towards Addingham befire turning off and crossing the A65 road and onto Cocking Lane. A short road walk then takes us to the footpaths which we follow uphill to reach Moorside Lane passing through Gate Croft Farm on the way. We then have a further long road walk until we reach Slade Farmhouse where we turn off and head uphill to reach the top of Addingham High Moor at Windgate Nick. A short walk across the moor then takes us to the Doubler Stones where we will stop for a lunch break. After the break we make our way back over the moor to the ridge footpath which we follow before dropping down to Crag House Farm, we then cross several fields, re-cross the A65 road and re-trace our way back into Ilkley. Refreshments after the walk be at the local P.H. alongside the river.
The walk is over fields and farm tracks at low level and may be wet and muddy in places. The paths over the moor and along the top of the ridge are quite stony and if wet can be slippy, so walking poles would be useful. There is some road walking involved and a couple of uphill climbs until we reach the top of the ridge.
