An undulating, mainly woodland walk, with a couple of steep climbs to Winkworth Arboretum. The first section of the walk can be wet and muddy. The arboretum is know for its spectacular late autumn colour, however autumn is early this year. We walk on to Godalming along the river Wey.
Winkworth Arboretum is a National Trust garden. Entry is £14.00 for non NT members, Gardener's World 241 is accepted, including offering a single entry for £7.00. Expect to walk at least an extra mile within the arboretum.
Train: 09.45 Waterloo; 09.52 Clapham Junction. Train to Haslemere . Buy return to Milford.
Lunch: Picnic at the arboretum. There is a kiosk selling hot drinks and snacks, but please bring a picnic because it is likely to be very busy.
