Group name: Penrith
This group is a part of Lake District Area.
Our activities include:
Short and easy walks
Penrith is centrally located to provide a wide range of walks in the Lakeland hills, the Howgills, the Eden Valley and the North Pennines, even venturing into the Yorkshire Dales and Scotland at times. The Group is a friendly and welcoming, providing walks for a wide range of abilities each week, including low level woodland and lakeside walks as well as mountain walking.
The Group is in the process of increasing the numbers of walks it provides but has still not returned to pre-pandemic levels. Walks can be on any day of the week but Wednesday is the most popular day.
Our groups help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Most

groups organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.
See our new programme of walks.
The telephone number of the walk leader of each walk is given on the walks' programme. Please contact the walk leader by email or phone to book a place on a walk and gain details about the start point and any other relevant information. You will be asked to provide your mobile phone number so that you can be contacted in the event of any changes.

Stuart Gran Thank you Note to all Ramblers
When I moved to Cumbria in 2016 I joined the Penrith Group of National Ramblers.
This was most opportune as I met my current partner Jean during the subsequent organised walks. It has also proved time and time again what wonderful friends we both have.
Although I was disappointed not to be able to attend personally, I now know that last Wednesday’s Tea & Cake fundraiser for Myeloma UK, in celebration of my 70th birthday, was a great success due to the teamwork and effort involved.
Jean and I cannot thank you enough for your support and we are looking forward to seeing you all soon.
