We'll walk along a track to Ampleforth village then along field paths to the fishponds and woods. After a lunch break in the woods, we'll follow good tracks back to the Tea Room at Ampleforth Abbey. Bring your binoculars if you want to observe waterfowl on the fishpond or see the Anthony Gormley standing man statue on the distant hillside.
Please note that the Tea Room opens at 10 so the start time of 10:15 allows time to grab a quick cuppa or use the toilets before the walk.
There will be sections of wet mud and slippery leaves so walking poles are recommended.
No dogs please.
Use of parking and private rights of way is by kind permission of Ampleforth Abbey.
