Overview

Starting at the Bowlees visitor centre this walk follows the River Tees to the west passing Low Force High Force and Bleabeck Force following the Pennine Journey.

The walk passes though the farm at Cronkley descending a short steep slope (sticks required).

After crossing the bridge over the Tees we continue to follow the river to Saur Hill Bridge.

Following the Pennine Journey to cross the B6277 and starting the return journey crossing Ettersgill beck at Birch Bush.

We then cross the moor to Causeway Sike and back to Bowlees.

There are some substantial stiles on our return journey.
