Overview

Please note 09.30 start

From the Saltergate car park we head out along the Old Wifes Way to the path above Newgate Brow and over a section of moorland to the Low Bride Stones. Continuing down to Staindale we take forest paths through Yondhead Rigg to link with the Tabular Hills Walk. Here we descend the track at Crosscliff Wood and on to Thompson's Rigg where we pass the remains of Standing Stones and a view of the hill known as Blakey Topping. Then its north through the woods of Blakey Rigg to the ancient monument of Malo Cross. Our final stretch is a steady climb to the path over fields above Saltergate Brow and the car park. A glorious walk for a fine day !.
