A walk on Witton Moor from Jervaulx down to Gollinglith Foot and back over the moor to East Witton, finishing with a walk along the river Cover to Jervaulx.
We start by heading over farm land to join the Six Dales Trail which we follow over the moor to Gollinglith Foot. Beautiful views along the way looking over Gollinglith and Masham Moor.
After descending to Gollinglith Foot we climb back onto Witton Moor with panoramic views as we head for Witton Fell then descend to East Witton and the River Cover which we follow back to Jervaulx.
There are a few stiles on this walk, one of which is a a bit tricky!
The paths vary and are likely to be boggy in places with a bit of heather hopping to avoid the worst but are clearly defined. The start of the walk is across fields. If these are too wet and muddy there is a possibile diversion along a road.
Most of the ascents are gradual with a sharp descent into East Witton.
