We are the Mid Wiltshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A walk along the winterbourne to Winterbourne Monkton and onto Monkton Down to enjoy the views. The return is over the Downs and includes sections of the Ridgeway and the Hare Path. An optional extension of about a mile is available via the stone Avenue. There are one or two stiles.
Bring refreshments. We will be back for lunch.
Poles/sticks may be useful as it is likely to be muddy in part. Chalk can also be slippery when wet. There may be livestock en-route.
