Overview

The route is mainly through arable and pasture all on good paths with a little road walking. The return leg involves a short steady climb up Beacon Bank. However, just before we reach the village of Husthwaite there is an opportunity to avoid the bank and to shorten the walk to 5.5 miles by taking a direct route back using the dismantled railway track.
