A beautiful low level walk taking the the 2 Langdale valleys, from the grandeur and beauty of Great Langdale to the peace and tranquility of Little Langdale. We start from the National Trust carpark in Elterwater and head to Great Langdale via Baysbrown and Oak Howe then ascend to Blea Tarn and into Little Langdale via Blea Moss, Fell Foot, Bridge End and the picturesque Slater Bridge to Dale End and return.
Good paths and tracks. Rocky in places. One short section a bit boggy although not a problem
Option to visit Cathedral Cave (short detour approx 250 metres)
The only real climbing is the crossover between the 2 valleys and will be at a leisurely/moderate pace. Please bring National Trust card if you have one. Early start required to get a space in the carpark.
Option refreshments afterwards at Brambles Cafe, Chapel Stile if time allows. Otherwise Grasmere
