Section 2 of the LOOP takes you from Bexley to Petts Wood via the River Cray, Footscray Meadows, Scadbury Park, Edlmann Memorial Wood, and Jubilee Country Park along a combination of paved roads and footpaths and rougher sections through woodlands and fields. The route is relatively flat but there are steps along the route and at the end. Our lunch stop is at Sidcup Place and Green which is a large park with areas of woodland and a walled garden with rare ferns. Please bring a picnic. Nearby is the former council offices of Sidcup Place, now a pub.
There is an accessible toilet at Bexley Station (leader has radar key), and toilets at Petts Wood Station. There may be toilets on the train.
One of the areas of interest is The Five Arch Bridge, designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, the great English 18th century landscape architect. In 1782 his plans led to the damming of the River Cray to create the lake and weir.
