We begin and end viewing Lyme Bay; take the Lim riverside walk to Town Mill dating from the 14th century, follow Old Lynch Mill Lane, cross the Lim at Winsor Terrace on the Wessex Ridgeway noting The Leper’s Well and 100m long ford at ‘Jericho’. Our route takes the East Devon Way passing Old Mill with overshot wheel, an 18th century textile mill. Continue to Uplyme and swift view of Church as greatly transformed in 19th century. Descend to the cricket pavilion and continue to admire the spectacular concrete Cannington Viaduct of 10 elliptical arches. We pass beneath the arches to Cuckoo Hill, ascend through ‘Tony’s Woods’ to join The South West Coast Path to the Cobb and Marine Parade, return to start.

Lyme Regis Town Square beneath the ammonite lamp post (by bus stop). The walk may be reached by train from Exeter Central at 9.30am to Axminster then bus 10.15am X51/X53 Jurassic coaster to Lyme, dismount at Co Op, 38 Broad Street. (£8.15) with rail card and bus pass) Alternatively park in Woodmead Car Park, Hill Rd, DT7 3PG charges £1.10 per hour - at least 4 hours required! Has toilets. Map: EXP116.
