From the Headless Cross we walk across the Down then thread through pretty, shaded woodland and stream paths, from thence along a short section of the B3212 to Westcott Wood and the hamlet of Westcott, follow footpaths to the Heltor Rock, Plaistow Green and by lane to Blackingstone Rock where we enjoy 360 degree views from the top, assisted by the wrought iron stairs as well as the enjoyment of legends and lunch. Return by lane and paths via Cossick Cross, Doccombe Cross, Doccombe and Mardon Down.
