Overview

Starting at the Quemerford Gate layby, we walk up Ranscombe Bottom and over Cherhill Down, curving round to have lunch with a view south over Avebury and Silbury Hill. We then follow the Roman Road up to Morgan's Hill and briefly join the Wansdyke. We drop down to Calstone Wellington church, and  through lanes and paths and over the river back to the layby.

Mud is likely, particularly at the beginning and end. Sticks may also be useful.  There may be livestock enroute.  Bring refreshments for two stops including lunch.
