Scar Crags and Causey Pike

Leaving Braithwaite we follow a good track leading us into the Coledale Valley. The path runs between Coledale Beck & the foothills of Stile End & Outerside and gives good views ahead, including views of the Force Crag Mine.  We then turn upwards, beginning our ascent onto Scar Crag.  Our path is a mixture of grass and stone and is steep in places. Once onto Scar Crags we will walk along the ridge onto Causey Pike, all the while enjoying fabulous views of the surrounding fells and valleys.  From Causey Pike we will back track a short distance to begin our descent, passing through the Barrow Door and on into Braithwaite.
