Overview

From Harborne to the Edgbaston Reservoir. This walk is about 4 miles, mostly flat but also includes some steps. Starting at Harborne Leisure Centre, we walk to the Moor Pool Estate. This social housing development was initiated by John Nettleford who was chairman of Birmingham Housing Committee in1901 – He built and lived in Winterbourne house. His strong beliefs in providing plenty of green space around houses, and updating existing housing stock were implemented in this project. After exploring this estate and its facilities, we will make our way to the Harborne Walkway towards Edgbaston Reservoir and the Red Shed Café where we can buy refreshments and enjoy the peace of the surroundings. Buses into town or back to Harborne are nearby.
