A walk through a typical Weardale landscape featuring Stanhope Burn valley and further wilder and more remote areas. Good paths and tracks throughout, though being winter it is likely that there will be sections of path that will be slippery as we travers along valley sides, so recommend walking poles. There are some short steeper slopes together with a longer more gentle climb a total assent of around 1000ft, so not too challenging.

Durham Dales Centre Carpark - centre of the town almost opposite side of the road to the Castle. Park in the top area of the carpark an area suggested by the centre for longer stay vehicles. £
