Overview

C WALK DESCRIPTION: Stratford-upon-Avon, Welcombe Hills and Snittersfield. 8.5 miles, 600 ft total ascent, 3 ascents -170 ft over 0.9 mile, and 183 ft over 1 mile, 80 ft over 590 ft. Leader- Eva Hyde. Starting at a layby on the A460 near Stratford parkway station, the route goes by Lower Clopton farm and climbs steadily to meet the Monarch’s way in the Welcombe Hills. Continuing north through fields, woodlands and orchards we reach Cobb’s farm shop for a late coffee stop. The route then passes through the attractive village of Snitterfield where we will stop in the churchyard for lunch. We return along a minor road to the Welcombe Hills and view the obelisk and Clopton tower before descending through a park and residential roads to Stratford leisure centre and, if time, permits, a pub. The fare is £15.
