Overview

Whitbarrow Scar, to the south west of Kendal is a limestone escarpment which is relatively rare in the Lake District.  The walk ascends on an easy path, through the trees to the top of the scar. Here there are 360 degree views across the Kent Estuary and Lakeland fells.  An undulating path goes to Lord's Seat after which the descent is via Bell Rake and the return is through High and Low Crag Woods
