Walk 10 from our Ten Walks around Devizes. This walk takes us through St John’s churchyard and over the old railway line, then through Hillworth Park, past the entrance to Roundway Hospital and down to Drews Pond nature reserve. From here we pass through Montecello Farm and briefly join pavements of the A380 on the outskirts of Potterne. This road was turnpiked and became the main road in about 1780. Continuing through to Rangebourne Mill we use field paths and tracks to return to the car park in Devizes. The walk passes through rolling countryside and has some stiles.
There may be livestock en route and sticks may be useful as it could be muddy. Please bring a drink.
Evening meal is potentially available at the Three Crowns, Maryport Street, Devizes. Please book with the pub for about 8.30pm
