Overview

The Medway Valley path runs from the historic town of Tonbridge in West Kent to the ancient port of Rochester, a total of 28 miles. The route passes through a varied landscape of downland, woodland, hop gardens, meadows and farmland. Links are made with the Greensand Way, North Downs Way and Wealdway.

We start walking at Tonbridge and follow the pretty meandering river Medway, past locks and varied wildlife.

After a picnic lunch, there will be a short detour to East Peckham to an historic pub for drinks and toilet stop. the walk continues to Yalding station.
