A winter walk through the Walthamstow wetlands and surrounding marshes. The wetlands is one of the largest urban wetland nature reserves in Europe and is serves as a byway for migrating, wintering and breeding birds. We also visit Springfield Park and also Abney Park at the end of the walk.
The walk will be at a moderate to brisk pace. It may be muddy in places.
No dogs are allowed in the wetlands.
Train: Tottenham Hale (Zone 3) Victoria Line and National Rail services. We will meet up near the Taxi Rank to the right on exiting the station. For the return Stoke Newington is on the Weaver Line (Zone 2).
Lunch: In Springfields Park. Bring packed lunch.
Toilet: At the Wetlands Pumping Station, near the start of the walk, also in Springfield Park and Abney Park at the end of the walk.
