Overview

An undulating walk through Knole Park, then woodland and farmland to Ightham Mote. Our return starts with a long ascent along the Greensand Way which is a ridge with some lovely views. This walk has quite a lot of climbs and descents; there will be some mud, but the soil is generally sandy.

Train: 09.56 Charing Cross, 10.06 London Bridge, 10.22 Orpington. Freedom Pass Holders buy a return from Knockholt to Sevenoaks.

Lunch: picnic or cafe at Ightham Mote, a National Trust Property.  There are toilets and a refreshment kiosk (tbc) whether or not you are entering the gardens. There is no shelter in the picnic area.

Toilets: please use toilets on the train, with Sevenoaks Station as a fall back; only toilet en route is at  Ightham Mote until we reach Sevenoaks.
