Overview

A bracing walk through Greenwich, Deptford and Bermondsey following a meandering route along the Thames and through parks and green spaces. There are stopping points with great river views from hills and ridges, as well as an exploration of some of the social and maritime history of this area with its rich national heritage. There are drop off points at Surrey Quays and Rotherhithe village for the Overground railway.

Train: Cannon Street 9.56, London Bridge 10.01, Greenwich 10.09, Maze Hill 10.12.  Meet outside Maze Hill station.

Lunch:  Bring a picnic, and possibly warm soup if particularly cold ; there are busy pubs adjacent to picnic areas for warm food.

Toilet: On the train and at Maze Hill station.
