A short winter walk along the Kent coast (hopefully with some Turneresque seas) to Margate and the Turner Contemporary Gallery. The main exhibition at the Gallery is - Bridget Riley 'Learning To See'. Riley is best known for her Op Art in the 60's, some of which are shown here, together with much later work, including 4 pieces painted directly onto the Gallery walls. The walk finishes at the Gallery where the leader will point out the station, places to eat and places of interest - Margate Museum, the Shell Grotto, old town. You are then free to visit the Gallery, explore town and beach and return to London at your leisure.
Mainly flat walk on hard surfaces, but 2 sets of steps as we go up to the cliff-top and back to the promenade.
