The first stately home is Pitzhanger Manor, former home of Sir John Soane, in Walpole Park. The walk then continues through Lammas and Blondin Parks to Boston Manor Park and its recently restored Jacobean mansion. We will have a short refreshment break here (café and toilets) before cutting down to the canal and heading west towards Hanwell and then cross Warren Farm nature reserve to Osterley. Lunch will be at the Hare and Hounds for those who like a pub lunch with provision made for those who prefer a picnic. In the afternoon we will explore Osterley Park with the grandest of the three stately homes, Osterley House, before heading across fields to Osterley station. A couple of stiles and a lock to cross. Generally good paths and flat. Several potential drop out points with tube and bus options.
