Overview

A circular moorland and village walk beginning in Belstone. We head east through Skaigh towards Sticklepath, then on through South Zeal with its historic thatched cottages and medieval church.  From there, we climb steadily up onto Ramsley Common and ascend to Cosdon Beacon with wide views stretch across north Dartmoor.  We descend by way of Foxes Holt before dropping back down westwards to Belstone village.  The route mixes quiet lanes, village paths, and open moorland tracks.  Expect one sustained climb, rough ground underfoot in places and a little road walking.
