This walk begins by heading south-east across Ideford Common and along Haldon Lane, possibly with a short diversion to see a rare surviving stretch of Roman road. It then follows old drovers’ routes along the Hamblecombe and Three Tree green lanes to arrive at a wonderful viewing point above Bishopsteignton and the Teign estuary. After lunch we return across the golf course where there are more lovely views, then follow quiet lanes through the villages of Luton and Ideford to arrive back at Ideford Common.
