The walk will pass Over Tor (not marked on OS Maps) with its interesting rock forms, through Longash Farm, the beautiful woodland and rock formations of Hucken Tor, from where there are glimpses of the enigmatic Vixen Tor. The route will then pass Daveytown, Withill, using the bridle way and lane before ascending onto the open moor. We will pass Ingra Tor, Swell Tor, Foggin Tor, and Kings Tor, with evidence of stone working in the quarries, walking sections of the disused railway before aiming to arrive at the Merrivale Stone rows around 4.00pm. Sunset is around 4.21pm and Merrivale is thought to be a Bronze Age astronomical calendar, if it is sunny then this can be demonstrated. If you have dowsing rods, then bring them along!
Booking essential as will be weather dependent walk.
