Overview

Moderate paced walk across Wimbledon Common, Putney Heath, Barnes Common to Barnes for lunch.  Then along the Thames towpath via Hammersmith to finish at Putney Bridge Underground (north side to river Thames).  There is one long hill at the beginning of the walk, then fairly flat walking.  No stiles.

Meet:Wimbledon Station 10.30am.  Meet on forecourt outside ticket office exit.

Train: London Waterloo 10.12, Clapham Junction 10.21 arrives Wimbledon 10.28. Wimbledon is also on the District Line, Thames Link & Croydon Tram and is in Zone 3. Return from Putney Bridge (Zone 2; District line) or Putney mainline station (Zone 2/3; Nat Rail to Waterloo)

Toilet: at Wimbledon Station (District line platform) and at lunch.

Lunch: at Barnes.  Pub, cafe or picnic
