This second section of the West Anglian Way takes us out of London for the first time on our walk to Cambridge. Beginning at Tottenham Hale station, the walk follows the Lee Navigation north past the Tottenham marshes and a few reservoirs. We then have a picnic lunch before we head into Waltham Abbey, where we stop for a longer break (lots of cafes, a visit to the Abbey or a visit to the Epping Forest museum are options). On the final section of the walk we follow Cornmill Stream and crossing Turnershill Marsh to get to Cheshunt.
There are no toilets after Tottenham Hale station until we get to Waltham Abbey.
The path after Waltham Abbey is also very muddy, especially if we have to divert around a flooded underpass.
Over 60 and Freedom pass holders should get a single from Cheshunt. Those paying for the full ticket might consider contactless all the way as you can tap in at Cheshunt.
