The walk starts at Canary Wharf Jubilee Line Station (a few minutes walk from the Canary Wharf DLR and Elizabeth Line stations, if you prefer them to the Jubilee Line) and we meet just outside the main exit, in Jubilee Plaza (I’ll stand next to the large 3D “Canary Wharf” sign, next to Eden Dock). There are toilets in the shopping mall next to the station (at same level as ticket barriers), which are usually open. Please use them before joining the walk. More toilets should be available in Victoria Park.
We will walk down to the river, at Canary Wharf Pier, and then use the Thames Path (and some roads), through Limehouse to the start of the Regents Canal. From there we’ll walk alongside the canal to Angel station. There are some interesting sights, along the way, and I’ll share some information about the ones I know.
Lunch (30 minutes) will be taken somewhere along the towpath, so please bring a packed lunch (I’ll aim for some time between 12 and 1pm, for lunch).
There are potential drop out points along the way, with regular bus services close to the towpath, and train/tube/DLR stations not too far from the path. All within the Oyster/Freedom Pass area.
**Please note that while I think the pace of my walks fits the Ramblers' description of "Moderate" some walkers have said that they find my pace (2 to 2.5 miles per hour) a bit faster than they prefer. But please note that this is the pace of my walks, so if you're looking for a slower walk, this one might not be suitable for you**
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
