Overview

This is a walk of two halves.  Starting from Codford we climb up onto the downs of Salisbury Plain (the chalk, where the sheep used to roam) and wander around the quiet byways and paths between huge fields, past numerous archeological sites before dropping down to the Wylye Valley (the cheese, where the cattle are.  We stay by the River Wylye all the way back into Codford, which is really two villages which have merged into each other, and hence the two churches.
